Once you’ve downloaded the app to your phone or tablet, you have a personal hot tub assistant at your beck and call. The app, which is available for both iOS and Android users, is a reference guide to the ins and outs of both your spa and spa ownership as a whole. It can be used whether you’re at home or all the way across town.

The Benefits of the SmartTub™ App

The SmartTub™ System app offers tips and provides how-to videos on maintenance and care of your spa. It can also customize the information you receive based on how you use your hot tub. It also offers energy usage estimates, power outage notifications and enables you to easily update settings, such as energy efficiency and temperature.

As an added bonus, it will send an alert to both you and your dealer when a service call is needed.

How the SmartTub™ System Works

The SmartTub™ System uses alternative technologies including machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Using local cell towers to ensure stable networks with top-notch performance, Sundance® Spas partners with major wireless carriers worldwide.

Your use of SmartTub™ technology is not tied to your personal cellular plan, however. Rather, you are billed directly through the app on an annual basis beginning in year two. The service is not costly because M2M communication uses 3G technology for its connection. At such a low bandwidth, usage is kept affordable for all customers.

Sundance uses data packets that are smaller than a text message to remotely control and keep an eye on your hot tub. Even when you do not have adequate cell service to stream video or have voice communication, your coverage will still be sufficient to support your SmartTub™ System.

The chief reason the system does not rely on Wi-Fi is the location of most users’ hot tubs. Located outdoors, in most cases, the walls of your home, not to mention the water, can interfere with Wi-Fi signals.
