3 Best BBQ Recipes Ready in 30 Minutes or Less

Healthy grilled chicken served on a place with vegetables.

Summer is the perfect time for delicious dinners on the barbecue. Not only does cooking dinner outdoors keep your kitchen cool, it cuts down on dirty dishes and clean up time.

If you’re looking for some quick but tasty ideas for your barbecue this summer, these three quick and easy recipes come together in 30 minutes or less. Especially if you're the proud owner of a barbecue, like the Big Green Egg!

1. Coca-Cola Burgers

While putting pop in your burgers may seem odd, when combined with French salad dressing, it will give your patties out of this world flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup coca-cola
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp French salad dressing
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1½ lbs ground beef

Directions:

Mix egg, cola and salad dressing in a small bowl. Set aside. Crumble ground beef in a bowl and mix in breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Add wet ingredients and blend thoroughly. The mixture will be moist. Shape into patties and grill burgers to the desired doneness. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

2. Grilled Herb & Lemon Chicken

It doesn’t get easier than this grilled chicken recipe. Simply mix up the marinade the night before and allow the chicken breasts to marinate until you’re ready to cook the next day. With a salad, this is a quick and light meal the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Mix all ingredients together. Set aside ¼ cup of the marinade. Use the remainder of the marinade to marinate four boneless, skinless chicken breasts in a dish or a Ziploc bag. Meat should marinate for at least one hour, but preferably 12-24 hours.

Grill chicken on the barbecue for approximately 10 minutes, flipping at the halfway mark. While cooking, brush the chicken with the ¼ cup of leftover marinade.

3. Grilled cauliflower steak

Whether you’re a vegetarian or simply want a lighter supper, you can’t go wrong with hearty cauliflower steak. Both filling and delicious, this recipe can easily be dressed up with the addition of cheese and bacon.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large cauliflowers
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • Finely chopped chives
  • Sour cream, for drizzling

Directions

Remove leaves from each cauliflower. Cut cauliflower into ¾-inch thick ‘steaks.’  Mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Brush each side of the steaks with olive oil and season them with the prepared mixture. Grill for roughly eight minutes per side or until steaks are tender and charred in spots.

If you wish, you can top the cauliflower steaks with shredded cheese and cook until melted. Drizzle with sour cream and top with crumbled bacon and chives.
